Biography
Joe Mahoney, a two-time Pulizer Prize-winning photojournalist, is the Director of Multimedia for the Rocky Mountain Investigative News Network based in Denver. He was a staff photographer and the Assistant Director of Multimedia for the Rocky Mountain News in Denver from 1999 until the paper closed in 2009. At the News, Joe shot video and stills as well as supervised the development of the newsroom?s video and audio gathering.In 2010, he won a Heartland Emmy for work on the topical documentary short “Final Edition” as assistant
producer. During the past 20 years, Joe has covered a wide range of assignments including the recent U.S. presidential
campaigns, the World Series, the Columbine shootings, the Summer Olympics, the Columbia shuttle disaster and others.
He began his career in 1989 with the Associated Press.
He is married, has two children and lives in Lakewood.

- Coordinated and conducted training for fellow photographers on many new technologies including converting from
?lm-based to digital cameras, analog, digital and wireless transmitting - Introduced imaging and captioning standards for preparing photographs for production
